David Piperni - President
A native of Montreal, Canada, David launched Cargo Film
& Releasing in 2000 to represent the world as he sees
it: diverse, eclectic, and exciting. Raised speaking
Italian, French, and English, David has always had an
international outlook and has always been intrigued by
global cultures. Cargo's projects reflect this worldview.
It is no wonder that David resides in New York City these
days with his wife and young daughter. David has executive
produced a number of projects in the Cargo catalogue.
Sherry Simpson - Producer
Sherry has recently produced AMANDLA! (2003), the feature
film on the South African resistance music which premiered
on HBO and was released theatrically to much critical
acclaim and good box office in 2003. Sherry, originally
from Jamaica, Queens in New York City, is now Los Angeles
based. She is a co-producer with David on independent film
THE RIVER and doc feature THE FURIOUS FORCE OF RHYMES.
Daniel K. Berman - Director/Producer
Daniel is a Toronto-based filmmaker/producer and having
received a Gemini Award for his work on DEWEY TIME-THE
LIFE OF DEWEY REDMAN. Daniel has also produced and
directed the HD series BEAUTIFUL NOISE (13 X 60'), SOLOS-
JAZZ SESSIONS (28 x 60'), the HD travel show SPLENDOR IN
THE GARDEN, DUOS-JAZZ SESSIONS (13 x 30') and KEY OF EH!
(6 x 30') to name just a few.
Josh Atesh Litle - Director/Producer
An outstanding cinematographer, Josh completed his first
feature film, the award winning EVER SINCE THE END OF THE
WORLD in 2002 and is recently in production with a
documentary on international hip hop music and culture in
production with Dave Piperni and Sherry Simpson entitled
THE FURIOUS FORCE OF RHYMES. Josh lives in Brooklyn, NY.
Mama Keita - Director
Mama Keita is a Paris-based filmmaker having completed 3
features films and several documentaries in France. THE
RIVER is based on his film LE FLEUVE from 2003.
Stephanie Black - Director/Producer
Filmography includes the award-winning feature-length
Worker" and "Life & Debt" which have won both

for more information. Recently, Stephanie directed
six episodes of "Being Bobby Brown" a reality show
broadcast on BRAVO, Summer 2005 produced by B2
Entertainment. Stephanie is also currently in
post-production on "AFRICA UNITE: Bob Marleys 60th
Birthday Celebration" shot in February 2005 in Addis
Ababa, Ethiopia. Stephanie is based in New York City.
Jean-Jacques Neira - Producer
Jean-Jacques is a Brussels-based producer and President
of Karma Productions, a premiere music concert producer.
Karma and Cargo are currently working on several concert
productions that are in the works.
Clayton Benn - Producer
Clayton Benn started his film and television career in 1993
at PBS as part of the Development team at IN THE MIX a teen
magazine program headed by Emmy-award winning Executive
Producer Sue Castle. A job at Children's Television Workshop
(SESAME STREET) soon followed. In 2000, Mr. Benn produced
and directed multimedia video segments at GTBETA.COM
featuring Danny Glover, novelist Christopher Buckley, and
former NATO Allied Commander, General Wesley Clark. Most
recently Clayton Benn has worked as a distribution executive
at Global Media Distribution (GMD); a NYC based
international film distributor.
